Turkish Rap by Ruthie Heavrin

Peace to the fools against breaking the rules
Deliver verse audio, blast it on the radio
Listen to this Italian goddess:
You think I'm white?
You don't know flu from Jondis.
Racism still a fight
Ali living in fright
of the sight from what's right
being hidden in the night.
But American is cool
Yet they don't see the drool
dripping out the sides
of their jabbering lips.
Democracy's gift to the world
is her birthing hips.
Producing capitalism
Condoning euthanism
So c'mon, let's sharpen knives
As we take out the lives
of the ones who work our fields
Wield your shields against justice
Supported by the buttress
of hope that our crimes
are no worse than the limes
we squeeze in our toxic drinks
that drowns away the brinks
of our insanity.
The world facing calamity,
our eyes glued to the t.v.
Ignoring the words of J.C.
Liberty from the box of education
is only found in information
not spoon fed in class,
but discovered in grass
growing on the other side.
It's in Turkey
It's in Egypt
It's all across the globe
so be open to the probe
of the locals who glare:
give them a reason to stare
We are the ones who need to change
Closing in the gap between us and them
Using travels as the hem.
